Obey Him in the Little Things | Kenneth Copeland

He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much.

Have there ever been extremely significant projects you wanted to do for the kingdom of God, but the Lord just didn't seem to let you? If so, there is probably a valid explanation.

If you read about what God did with the children of Israel after He delivered them from Egypt, you'll understand what I mean. The Promised Land was where he wished to lead them. However, God needed to know that they would obey Him before He could do it. He needed to know if they would pay attention to Him. Because if they didn't, the foes they would soon encounter would destroy them.

So, are you aware of what He did? He put them to the test in a tiny thing.

Exodus 16:4 describes this easy test. The Lord then told Moses,"Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not."

God tested their willingness to follow Him by using a tiny, unimportant issue—the food they consumed. He instructed them on how much to collect, when to gather it and when not to, as well as what to do with it after it was brought inside.

And the Israelites immediately disregarded those directives. By their acts, they demonstrated to God that they did not value His voice. Even His most straightforward directives were not respected by them.

God still operates in the same manner. He provides you the chance to demonstrate that you can be trusted with simple instructions before He sends you on a significant task.

But a lot of us pass up that chance. We ask the Lord, "What do You want me to do?" You want me to go to, exactly? I'll carry out your instructions. But when the Lord commands us to rise and spend an hour in morning prayer in the Spirit, we disobey Him. Oh yeah, that would be good, should carry out that. But for some reason, we never quite get to it.

Don't commit that error. Start following God in the tiny things right now. Let Him realise that you are trustworthy in that position of great authority. Tell Him you'll obey His commands and the voice of His Spirit. Once He is confident that you won't be destroyed by disobedience, He will begin giving you bigger tasks.
