Some people have claimed that some of the current epidemic diseases, like AIDS, are God's method of punishing today's immoral society. There is absolutely no support for such in the Bible.
God does not cause illness to affect the human race. In fact, Jesus is the only person in all of heaven and earth who despises it. The person attempting to convince us differently is the devil. He's spreading a lie by encouraging us to think that God is the one causing these illnesses because he knows that if the sufferers think that, it would alienate them even more from God. That is his goal.
It's time for us believers to quit believing that deception. The Lord revealed this to me some time ago when He spoke to my heart. Reach out to people who are hurting, he said. Tell them that I didn't harm them in this way. Tell them I'm their Deliverer, please!
That message was intended for the entire Body of Christ, not just for me. People who have experienced AIDS or other similar illnesses need to know that Jesus is in control of them. They need to know that God loves them very much and is able and willing to cure them.
We don't need to blame God for the suffering we observe around us. That is nothing more than a horrible falsehood the devil is spreading. And if you and I do our jobs well, another word will start circulating around the streets very soon. The word will spread that Jesus Christ is the only one who has the power to set them free and is not their captor.
